Two men were detained in Cherkasy region who planned the premeditated murder of a judge of a district court. This was reported by the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office, UNN reports.

According to the investigation, the murder of the judge was organized by a representative of the criminal underworld who has an influence on the crime situation in the region. His accomplice was supposed to be the perpetrator.
As a result of the coordinated actions of law enforcement agencies, the crime was prevented and the persons involved were detained.
During the searches of the detainees' residences and cars, a pistol with a silencer, converted from a starter to a combat pistol, and ammunition were seized.
In addition, the seized items included two grenades, clothes, gloves, sneakers and other items indicating their real intention to commit a particularly serious crime.
Law enforcement officers detained the men in accordance with Article 208 of the CPC of Ukraine.
The issue of serving them with a notice of suspicion of attempted premeditated murder committed by prior conspiracy, as well as illegal handling of weapons and ammunition (Article 14, paragraph 1, Article 115, paragraph 12, Article 115, paragraph 2, Article 263, paragraph 1, Article 263 of Ukraine) is currently being decided

It is noted that the pre-trial investigation in the criminal proceedings is carried out by investigators of the Main Department of the National Police in Cherkasy region, operational support is provided by the Strategic Investigations Department in Cherkasy region of the State Investigation Service of Ukraine.
Law enforcement officers established that the individuals had been carefully preparing for the premeditated murder. In early March 2024, they purchased weapons and ammunition to implement the criminal plan.
They also bought a change of clothes, shoes, gloves and other means of secrecy to avoid exposure of their illegal actions.
