Billionaire Elon Musk has made a donation to a fund that supports Donald Trump in key states. This move demonstrates Musk's growing influence in Washington, Bloomberg writes, citing its sources, UNN reports.
According to Bloomberg, the tycoon has donated an undisclosed but "significant" amount to America PAC. The next time America PAC is to publish its list of donors is July 15.
As the agency writes, "the move underscores the growing influence of Musk, who tops the Bloomberg Billionaires Index with a fortune of $263.6 billion, and his transformation from a politically independent man who says he prefers to stay out of politics to a figure who regularly uses his social media platform X to espouse right-wing views and attack Democrats."
AddendumAddendum
Musk has not yet officially endorsed any candidate in the 2024 race and said earlier this year that he was not going to finance Trump's or Biden's campaigns.
America PAC works mainly behind the scenes to support Trump's campaign. Although the Federal Election Commission does not disclose details about where exactly the work is being done, campaigning and vote-getting is most intense in key states that will determine the outcome of the election.
Recall
Some donors to the US Democratic Party have decided to freeze their donations of about $90 million. In this way, they want to force Joe Biden to withdraw from the presidential race.
