Assistance to Ukraine: Yermak and Stefanchuk emphasize the importance of early consideration of the budget request in the US

Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak and Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk stressed the importance of prompt consideration in Congress of a budget request to finance additional spending to help Ukraine in the amount of more than $61 billion. During his visit to the United States, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak, together with Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk and Defense Minister Rustem Umerov, met with Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee Michael McCaul, Chairman of the House Intelligence Committee Mike Turner and Chairman of the House Armed Services Committee Mike Rogers.

During the meeting, Yermak thanked the participants for preparing a strategically important document that provides a clear set of steps for the United States to confront Russia:

"Proposals for a Victory Plan for Ukraine". In particular, among the priorities, it identifies the transfer of weapons to Ukraine in the proper quantity and within the proper time frame, strengthening sanctions and export controls over Russia, increasing pressure on the Group of Seven and the EU to transfer frozen sovereign assets of Russia to Ukraine, and a number of other important measures," Yermak said.

Yermak expressed his sincere gratitude to the U.S. Congress and the entire American people for the financial, humanitarian and defense assistance provided to Ukraine. In particular, defense assistance from the United States alone has already reached almost $45 billion.

 "We appreciate that both the Republican and Democratic parties in the United States are united in their support for Ukraine. Bipartisan support is our core value, and we look forward to maintaining it," Yermak said.

Stefanchuk and Yermak also emphasized the importance of considering in Congress a budget request to fund additional spending to help Ukraine in the amount of more than $61 billion.

"During the meeting, Stefanchuk and Yermak stressed the importance of prompt consideration in Congress of a budget request to fund additional spending to help Ukraine in the amount of more than $61 billion, which is vital to continue the liberation of our lands from Russian invaders," the statement said.
