In Rivne, an 8-year-old girl who suddenly ran out onto the roadway was killed by a car, UNN reports, citing the Rivne regional police.

According to law enforcement officials, police received a report of a fatal car accident on Enerhetykiv Street in Rivne around 16:30 today, August 19.
The investigator has preliminarily established that a 31-year-old resident of the village of Velyka Omelyana, the driver of a VAZ 2104, hit an eight-year-old girl who suddenly ran onto the roadway.
The minor died from her injuries: doctors only pronounced the child dead.
The investigative team of the Main Directorate of the National Police, Rivne Regional Police Department, and juvenile police were working at the scene.
The issue of registering the incident in the URPI under Part 2 Art. 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine is being decided. The driver of the car is sober, however, he will undergo an appropriate examination.
