In the capital of Nepal, Kathmandu, on July 24, a plane crashed during takeoff: out of 19 people on board, only the pilot survived, BBC reports UNN.

It is stated that 17 employees of the company and two crew members were on board the Saurya Airlines plane. It was supposed to be heading to the Himalayan tourist center of Pokhara. The plane crashed a few minutes after taking off from Tribhuvan International Airport.
The airport manager told BBC Nepal that the crash “happened as soon as the plane left the ground, not even a minute had passed.” 18 people died. The only survivor of the crash was the pilot: he suffered eye and head injuries and is in hospital.
The cause of the crash is currently unknown, however, the initial assessment showed that the plane was flying in the wrong direction.
The airport was temporarily closed after the disaster, but reopened a few hours later.
