An indictment against a correspondent of the occupation TV channel Millet, who publicly supports the enemy and justifies the war in Ukraine, has been sent to court, UNN reports with reference to the Prosecutor's Office of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.

Details

According to the prosecutor's office, the actions of the accused are qualified as collaboration (Part 6 of Article 111-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) and justification, denial of the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine (Part 3 of Article 436-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

"In order to manipulate the minds of the peninsula's residents and create a false opinion about the "legitimacy" of the actions of the aggressor country, the accused hosts an author's program in the studio of the Millet TV channel in Simferopol. In it, the "correspondent" systematically disseminates pro-Russian information content. Repeating the typical narrative of Russian propaganda about the presence of "secret Pentagon laboratories" on the territory of Ukraine for the production of "biological weapons", which the occupying state must destroy, she justifies the armed aggression of the Russian Federation against Ukraine," the prosecutor's office said.

In addition, in a live broadcast of one of the programs, the "journalist" characterized the occupation of the territories of Ukraine as "returning to our home harbor, home". The accused justified her actions and praised the enemy, calling the strikes on the "critical infrastructure" of our country "a response to aggression and terrorist attacks by Ukraine".

A forensic linguistic examination confirmed that the defendant's speeches contained statements aimed at supporting the decisions and actions of the aggressor state. She faces up to 12 years in prison with deprivation of the right to engage in certain activities for up to 15 years and confiscation of property.
