A cloud of dust from the Sahara desert is coming to Moldova and Ukraine. This was reported to the publication NewsMaker by the head of the department of meteorological forecasts of the Moldovan State Hydrometeorological Service, reports UNN.
The air mass is moving from the southwest of Romania. Due to the fact that we are geographically close to Romania, it is expected that the cloud will pass over the territory of our country, including Ukraine, towards the Black Sea.
Details
The meteorologist warned that people who are sensitive to air pollution, such as those with asthma, may feel it more than others. This can manifest itself with coughing and sneezing.
According to Nadezhda Stoliar, the air mass with dust particles from the Sahara will reach Moldova tonight and will be felt until tomorrow evening.
Dust deposits will only be visible on cars etc. if there is precipitation such as rain.(...) More wind is expected today and tomorrow. Usually when the wind increases, the air masses disperse and the dust cloud may not be as noticeable.
Romanian meteorologists also reported a dust storm. They published photo maps showing how the air masses with dust from the Sahara will move.
From 12:00 on March 27 to 22:00 on March 28, the air circulation will remain predominantly southwesterly and will contribute to the penetration of the air mass with dust particles from the Sahara over Romania, with higher concentrations in the southwestern, southern and eastern regions.
Optional
The Ukrainian Hydrometeorological Center did not report on the dust storm. However, warned of dangerous meteorological phenomena in Ukraine, namely wind gusts in most western regions up to 15-20 m/s. The danger level is yellow.
