President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed gratitude to the United States, Denmark and the Netherlands for practical steps to strengthen the Ukrainian Air Force with F-16 fighter jets, which are in the process of being transferred to Ukraine, UNN reports .
"I am grateful to the United States, Denmark and the Netherlands for taking practical steps to achieve the goal of all Ukrainians - to strengthen the Ukrainian Air Force with F-16 fighters. I am grateful to Belgium and Norway for their willingness to provide us with their F-16 fighters. This is a clear signal that Russia's ability to terrorize the Ukrainian people, cities and communities will continue to decline," Zelensky wrote in X.
He noted that F-16s will also be used to strengthen Ukraine's air defense.
"I am confident that they will help us better protect Ukrainians from brutal Russian attacks, such as the attack on the Okhmatdyt children's hospital in Kyiv this week. I expect our air force coalition to grow even stronger with the addition of new members. The F-16s bring a just and lasting peace closer, demonstrating that terror must be defeated everywhere and always," Zelenskyy said.
The President added that the Ukrainian team continues to work in Washington to reach agreements that strengthen Ukraine's defense capabilities.

Denmark and the Netherlands are in the process of transferring US-made F-16s to Ukraine, with US support, the transfer of these F-16s is currently underway and Ukraine is expected to start operating F-16s this summer.
