Donald Trump's plan to end a full-scale war in 24 hours is to pressure Ukraine to cede part of the territory to russia. This is reported by The Washington Post, reports UNN.
Details
According to WP, citing people who have discussed this with Trump or his advisers privately, Trump's proposal is to push Ukraine to hand over Crimea and the Donbass border region to russia.
This approach, previously unreported, would radically alter President Biden's policy, which emphasizes curbing russian aggression and providing military aid to Ukraine.
WP notes that in seeking to return to power, Trump has often declared that if elected, he could negotiate a peace deal between russia and Ukraine within 24 hours, even before taking office.
But he has repeatedly refused to indicate publicly how he would quickly resolve the war, which has lasted more than two years and killed tens of thousands of soldiers and civilians.
According to The Washington Pos interlocutor, Trump stated that he believes both russia and Ukraine "want to save face, want a way out," and that people in parts of Ukraine would be fine if they were part of russia.
Trump's campaign staff declined to directly answer questions from The Washington Post.
Any speculation about President Trump's plan comes from unnamed and uninformed sources who have no idea what is going on or what will happen
According to people at that meeting, former Trump White House aide Michael Anton described the expected contours of Trump's peace plan as Ukraine ceding territory in Crimea and the Donbass, as well as limiting NATO expansion and encouraging putin to ease his growing dependence on China.
However, in March, Anton said he had not spoken to Trump in 18 to 24 months and denied knowing anything about Trump's plan for Ukraine. He did not respond to further questions.
