US NPPs demonstrate extraordinary efficiency: what indicator has been achieved

U.S. nuclear power plants continue to maintain one of the highest efficiency rates in the world, operating at full capacity more than 93% of the time. This is reported by NNEGC Energoatom, UNN reports.

Since the early 2000s, U.S. NPPs have consistently maintained an installed capacity factor above 90%, confirming their reliability as a major source of electricity.

In Ukraine, Energoatom has also implemented a strategic approach to the preparation of power units, carrying out repairs mainly in the warm season. This made it possible to achieve a record 100% capacity factor in the autumn-winter period of 2023-2024. 

This approach demonstrates the effectiveness of nuclear power in addressing energy challenges and ensuring system reliability.
