Orthodox Ukrainians now live on the New Julian calendar; the key January feasts are the Circumcision of the Lord on January 1 and the Epiphany on January 6.

On September 1, 2023, the Orthodox Church of Ukraine switched to a a new church calendar - the New Julian calendar. From now on, the dates of all church holidays that had fixed dates have changed. We remind you of the main religious holidays Orthodox believers will celebrate in January.

January 1 - Circumcision of the Lord, St. Basil the Great, St. Amphilochius of Pochaev.

January 5 - Epiphany Eve, of the Prophet Micah.

January 6 - Baptism Baptism of the Lord.

January 7 - Cathedral of the Forerunner and Baptist and Baptizer of the Lord John.

January 12 - Martyr Tatiana of Rome, St. Sava I, Archbishop of Serbia.

January 30 - Council of Ecumenical Teachers and St. Basil the Great, St. Gregory the Theologian, and St. John Chrysostom, St. Zinon, the Monk of the Caves.
