Due to constant Ukrainian missile and drone attacks, Russia was forced to relocate almost its entire Black Sea Fleet from occupied Crimea to Novorossiysk, rendering the Crimean naval base ineffective.

Due to constant missile strikes and attacks by kamikaze marine drones, Russia has been forced to relocate almost the entire fleet from the occupied Crimea to Novorossiysk. This was stated by Ukrainian Navy Commander Oleksiy Neizhpapa in an interview with Reuters, UNN reports .

Details

Neizhpapa emphasized that Russia has been turning Crimea into an important naval center for years, but the Ukrainian Defense Forces have rendered it ineffective.

According to him, Ukrainian missiles and naval drones have caused serious damage to the base in Sevastopol. This base is a logistics center and performs important functions for Russia, including repair, maintenance, training and ammunition storage.

It (the logistics center - ed.) was created over many decades, perhaps centuries. And now they are obviously losing this center

- explained the commander of the Ukrainian Navy.

The publication noted that Ukraine, lacking large warships, used kamikaze maritime drones and Storm Shadow and ATACMS missiles to attack Russian ships and military facilities in Crimea.

Almost all the main combat-ready ships have been withdrawn by the enemy from the main base of the Black Sea Fleet and are in Novorossiysk, some of them in the Sea of Azov

- said Oleksiy Neizhpapa.

Addendum

At the same time, Russia, according to the Ukrainian commander, has not equipped the naval base in Novorossiysk. In particular, there is no equipment for storing cruise missiles and loading launch vehicles.

I understand that they are trying to solve this problem in Novorossiysk now

- the Ukrainian Navy Commander emphasized.

Neizhpapa noted that Ukraine has destroyed or damaged 27 Russian warships, including five due to naval mines.

The Black Sea Fleet is now mostly used for logistics, control of the coastal area, and launching Kalibr missiles at Ukraine.

Recall

Ukrainian Navy spokesman Dmytro Pletenchuk said that Russian ships are currently mostly stationed in Novorossiysk and that this is actually the only base where they can be deployed.
