“I am running for president of all of America, not half of America. So tonight I am proud to accept your nomination for president of the United States,” Trump said.
Trump officially became the candidate on July 15, the first day of the convention.
On July 15, the Republican Party convention began in Milwaukee. On the first day, the delegates nominated Trump as the party's presidential candidate and Senator James David Vance as the vice presidential candidate. The latter officially agreed to run for vice president of the United States. Vance opposed the bill on aid to Ukraine.
