A Russian serviceman has been sentenced to 12 years in prison for the abduction of a 15-year-old boy in a village in Chernihiv district during the occupation. This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General, UNN writes.

Details

According to the investigation, on March 19, 2022, the Russian military abducted a 15-year-old boy in a village in the Chernihiv district. They held the boy to force his mother, a member of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, to provide information about the locations of Ukrainian military units.

"Representatives of the aggressor state exerted psychological pressure on the woman. They systematically called her and sent her messages threatening to commit physical violence against her son. In addition, they forced him to record voice messages, which were then sent to his mother," the prosecutor's office said.

The boy was kept in inadequate sanitary conditions in garages and utility rooms.

"Taking and holding a child hostage is expressly prohibited by international humanitarian law," the prosecutor's office emphasized.

As a reminder

A Moscow court passed the first sentence on the officers who failed to repel a Ukrainian missile strike, which killed seven occupiers and destroyed 15 pieces of equipment.
