The Rada plans to transfer to the Pension Fund the functions of granting maternity and child benefits

The Verkhovna Rada plans to transfer to the Pension Fund of Ukraine the functions of granting payments to pregnant women and child benefits. The draft law will be considered in the first reading at one of the next meetings.

At its next meeting, the Verkhovna Rada plans to support in the first reading a draft law that proposes to transfer to the Pension Fund of Ukraine the functions of assigning payments to pregnant women and child benefits. This is reported by UNN with reference to the draft agenda of the Verkhovna Rada meeting and draft law No. 9318.

Details

According to the draft law, it is planned to transfer to the Pension Fund the functions of granting maternity benefits and child benefits. It is noted that applications for benefits and financial support with the necessary documents may be submitted to the Pension Fund by mail or in electronic form, as well as through the Unified State Web Portal of Electronic Services (Diia).

Applications will also be accepted by officials of village, town, and city councils, as well as through the ASC.

The decision to grant or deny state aid to families with children is made within 10 working days from the date of application.

The draft law was registered in the Verkhovna Rada in May last year. It also transfers appointment functions to the Pension Fund:

maternity benefits;

childbirth assistance;

assistance in the adoption of a child;

allowances for children under guardianship or custody;

child allowances for single mothers social assistance for the maintenance of a child in the family of a foster care provider;

payment for child patronage services, state social assistance for orphans and children deprived of parental care, and persons among them, including those with disabilities;

financial support to parents, caregivers and foster parents for the provision of social services in family-type children's homes and foster families;

payment of a single contribution to the compulsory state social insurance for foster caregivers, foster parents and adoptive parents.
