The investigation into a lawyer who tried to bribe a prosecutor and a detective by offering $200,000 has been completed. This is reported by the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office, UNN reports.
Details
On August 22, 2024, a pre-trial investigation was completed against a Kyiv lawyer caught in an attempt to bribe a SAPO prosecutor and a NABU detective. The lawyer offered USD 200 thousand for transferring the criminal case against his client, who is suspected of embezzling UAH 716 million from the sale of electricity to NPC Ukrenergo, to another pre-trial investigation body.
The lawyer is charged with a violation under part 3 of Article 369 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. As stated in the Constitution of Ukraine, a person is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
