The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine has not received any information from the Polish side that protesters in Poland are restricting or blocking bus traffic, but cannot rule out that buses may be hampered by the blockade.

Border guards do not record any problems with passenger transport crossing the border with Poland, but do not rule out that buses may have difficulty passing through these blockade points. This was reported to UNN by the spokesman for the State Border Guard Service, Andriy Demchenko.

Details

"The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine has not received any information from the Polish side that protesters in Poland are restricting or blocking traffic for buses. What we record at our checkpoints is that buses leave for Poland after clearance and the neighboring side accepts them, as well as that buses arrive from Poland to Ukraine," Demchenko said.

He noted that he could not give a full assessment of what was happening in Poland, but hoped that the Polish protesters were not blocking traffic for buses, "but given that they are on the roads leading to and from the border, it cannot be ruled out that buses may have difficulty passing through these blockade points.

The spokesperson also added that cars and buses cross the border freely everywhere, and there are no restrictions on this category of transport on the other side of the border.

Recall

Yesterday, on March 11, Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction and Minister of Community Development, Territories and Infrastructure Oleksandr Kubrakov reported that Polish protesters blocking truck traffic on the Ukrainian-Polish border began stopping passenger buses, detaining women, children and military personnel without explanation.

Polish law enforcement officials denied accusations of blocking passenger buses from Ukraine, saying that the buses were crossing the border with Poland without hindrance.
