At a conference in Washington, D.C., SpaceX President Gwynne Shotwell announced the sale of satellite lasers designed for fast space communications to other satellite companies.
This initiative was made possible by the inter-satellite laser communications technology already used by thousands of SpaceX Starlink satellites in low Earth orbit.
Thanks to this technology, data is transmitted between satellites at the speed of light, enabling the network to provide efficient Internet coverage around the world with fewer ground stations.

In contrast to previous practices, when SpaceX used this technology in-house, it has now decided to make it available to other satellite companies. The technology promises to be easy to install, allowing customers to use it quickly and easily on their spacecraft.
