To ensure that the Christmas tree brings only joy, law enforcement officers urge Ukrainians to follow the basic rules of of safety.

  • Place the Christmas tree on a stable base so that the branches do not touch the walls and ceiling and are at a safe distance from electrical appliances;. 
  • To prevent the Christmas tree from catching fire, it is prohibited to decorate it with candles with real fire, sparklers, and flammable materials.
  • Law enforcement officers also urge not to use faulty or homemade electric lights.
  • They also ask that children stay near the Christmas tree with the lights on only in the presence of adults.
