Riots broke out in several cities in Turkey, including Hakkari and Izmir, due to the decision of the Van provincial election commission to remove the DEM candidate Abdullah Zeydana from the election. This was reported by NTV, according to UNN.

In Vanya, demonstrators who were not allowed to hold a protest were burning bonfires in the streets, building barricades, demolishing flower beds and damaging cars. Police dispersed them with water cannons and tear gas. Five people were detained in the city.
In Haqqar, protesters wanted to march in the city center. Having not received permission from the police, the demonstrators dispersed into the alleys and began throwing stones at the security forces. The governor of Hakkari province, Ali Çelik, said that one person was injured during the clashes.
In Sirte, a group of protesters gathered in front of the DEM party headquarters and marched from there to Democracy Square, despite police demands to limit the rally to the headquarters. A fight broke out between security forces and demonstrators, and four people were detained. Protests also took place in Diyarbakir, Batman, Bitlis, Şırnak and Izmir.
