Journalists from Radio Liberty's Schemes project appealed to the National Security and Defense Council that KVK TV host Oleksandr Maslyakov and his son, also from the "Club of the Funny and the Clever," who publicly support Russian dictator Vladimir Putin and tour the TOT, are still not under sanctions, UNN reports .
Details.
Alexander Maslyakov Sr. is a longtime host of the Russian "Club of the Funny and the Clever" and publicly supports the President of the Russian Federation. He has been his proxy in elections for many years.
The younger Maslyakov, in turn, came to the occupied Donetsk region in 2023 and performed for the so-called "veterans of the armed conflict." Among the cities where the concerts took place was Mariupol, which was destroyed by the Russian army.
Despite the above, both Russians are still not under sanctions.
Therefore, the journalists sent a request to the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, and received a response that showed that none of the authorized bodies, including the Cabinet of Ministers, had approached them with a corresponding initiative.
Although the Cabinet of Ministers confirmed to Schemes that it had twice in 2022 proposed to the National Security and Defense Council to authorize the oil companies.
If such proposals are received from the state bodies authorized by the Law of Ukraine "On Sanctions" regarding the individuals specified in your request, they will be submitted to the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine in accordance with the established procedure.
