As analyst Oliver Alexander of the social network X noted , there is almost nothing left of the there is almost nothing left of the ship.
"There is practically nothing left of the Novocherkassk. As you can see, the entire front part of the ship is now underwater/completely gone," Alexander wrote .

On the night of December 26, Ukraine carried out air strikesagainst on the Russian landing ship Novocherkassk in the temporarily occupied Crimea. Later, the Russian Defense Ministry confirmed the damage to the ship in Feodosia.
Gumenyuk stated that the large detonation in "Novocherkassk indicates that there could have been a "Christmas gift" from Russia to Ukraine. She also stated that the large-scale detonation and fire on the amphibious assault ship may indicate that other ships may have also suffered from the effects of the attack.
