The Verkhovna Rada Committee is investigating whether the Deposit Guarantee Fund has any property that may be needed by the military.

The Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, Defense, and Intelligence will find out whether the Deposit Guarantee Fund has any property under its management that may be needed by the military and consider transferring it to the Armed Forces. This was stated in an exclusive commentary to UNN by a member of the parliamentary committee, the chairman of the subcommittee on state security and defense, Fedir Venislavsky.

"I will talk to the head of the Fund, clarify what they have, and we will consider it at the committee," Venislavsky said, answering the question whether it would be advisable to audit the DGF to see if it has the property necessary for the military - cars, armored vehicles, equipment, etc.

Earlier, Venislavsky promised that at the next meeting, the parliamentary committee would examine the situation with the armored collection vehicle belonging to the liquidated Concord Bank. The MPs will consider the possibility of transferring this property directly to the Armed Forces instead of selling it at auction by the Deposit Guarantee Fund.

Co-founder of Concord Bank Olena Sosedka appealed to the Deposit Guarantee Fund to not hold an auction for the sale of the bank's armored collection car, but to transfer it to the military. Soldiers of the 204th Separate Kyiv Territorial Defense Battalion, which is currently on the front line, call on the Deposit Guarantee Fund to listen to the proposal of Concord Bank shareholders and transfer the armored car put up for sale to the army.

Concorde Bank has been under the management of the DGF since the NBU announced its decision to liquidate the bank. Currently, according to the Fund, the payment of the claims of the 9th priority of creditors (shareholders and related parties) is already underway - this is the last priority. At the time of the start of the liquidation procedure, the bank was profitable, and there was no need to sell assets to make all payments. However, the DGF decided to hold an auction for the sale of the bank's collection vehicle. The official website of the Guarantee Fund contains information about the auction for the sale of a light truck - a Volkswagen Transporter (specialized with armored protection PCSA-3, year of manufacture - 2013) on January 3, 2024.  The vehicle is also accompanied by tires, load-bearing vests and protective plates belonging to the bank Concord.

"We are appealing to the Foundation to donate this vehicle to the military, because thanks to the armor, such vehicles are able to perform operations related to driving directly to the ground. For our team, charity is a way of life. We hope that the Foundation will listen to our request and take into account the needs of the military," wrote Olena Sosedka.

She also added that the bank's shareholders are ready to reduce the payments due to them by the amount of the car's value.
