The Verkhovna Rada plans to introduce amendments to the law on mobilization, military registration and military service.  The plans include the elimination of deferment for students, who are getting their 2nd or 3rd higher education. It is also proposed to draft some persons who have served their sentences for crimes. This was reported by MP deputy Mariana Bezuhla on Facebook, UNN reports .

Today, according to Ukrainian legislation, citizens who are studying, regardless of their existing education and its level, are entitled to a deferral from the mobilization call. Thus, the number of people wishing to study during martial law has increased by 2-3 times not only to improve their professional level, but also to avoid being called up for military service. The amendments are supposed to eliminate the possibility of avoiding conscription by obtaining a second, third or higher education

, Bezuhla wrote.

Other major changes include:

The number of citizens entitled to deferred care for a person with a disability of group I and II or in need of constant care is being reduced. Persons liable for military service who have a spouse with a disability of group III lose the right to deferment.A new additional leave with pay for 90 calendar days is introduced for servicemen released from captivity (except for those who refused to continue their service and wish to resign).
It is planned to register persons convicted of a criminal offense to imprisonment, restriction of liberty, including with release from serving a sentence. The ban on providing information on the registration of residence or stay by conscripts, persons liable for military service and reservists when concluding an employment contract is lifted. The list of persons to be registered for military service is expanded.
