A large-scale detonation and fire on the Russian landing ship Novocherkassk may indicate that other ships could also suffer from the effects of the attack. This was reported by the spokeswoman for the Defense Forces of the South of Ukraine Natalia Gumenyuk during a briefing, according to a correspondent of UNN.
When asked whether several Russian ships could have been hit in addition to the Novocherkassk, Humeniuk replied: "Given that the enemy is trying to disperse its naval grouping to several points, not only concentrating it in Novorossiysk, for example. And trying to place them so that they are as far away from the strike zone as possible, such a moment is not excluded, but we are waiting for verified, reliable information."
She noted that the prolonged detonation on the Novocherkassk may indicate that other ships may have also suffered from the effects of the attack.
"The detonation and the general picture that everyone observed from open sources clearly indicates that the fire is large-scale, the detonation is long-lasting. This may even indicate that, being at a great distance from each other, other ships could also suffer from the consequences of the attack," said Humeniuk.
Addendum
Ukraine conducted air strike on the Russian landing ship Novocherkassk in the temporarily occupied Crimea. Later, the Russian Defense Ministry confirmed the damage to the ship in Feodosia.
Humeniuk said that the large detonation at Novocherkassk indicates that there could have been a "Christmas gift" from Russia to Ukraine.
Gumenyuk also said that it is possible that the Novocherkassk ship could have been loaded with "Shahedis,"but this information is being checked.
