Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban will travel to Moscow on July 5 to meet with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, a few days after meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy in Kyiv. A source in the Hungarian government told Radio Liberty, UNN reported.

According to the journalists' source, Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto will also accompany Orban to the Kremlin. Szijjarto has visited Russia more than five times since Moscow invaded Ukraine in February 2024.

Radio Liberty later received confirmation of the visit through its source in the Hungarian government.

The press service of the Hungarian prime minister has not yet responded to a request for comment.
The media note that Orban last visited Moscow in September 2022, when he paid his respects at the funeral of former Soviet President Mikhail Gorbachev.

While in Kyiv, Orban, who maintains a close relationship with Putin, said he presented Zelenskiy with a ceasefire proposal for talks with Russia.
Ukraine's president did not publicly express his opinion on the proposal, but later on July 2, the president's spokesman said that Zelenskyy had given Orban the opportunity to speak.
