More than 12,000 people, including 1,777 children, have been evacuated from the border settlements of Sumy region due to Russian attacks.

More than 12 thousand people have been evacuated from the border communities of Sumy region, including 1777 children, Volodymyr Artyukh, head of the Sumy RMA, said on Tuesday during a telethon, UNN reports.

To date, we have evacuated more than 12 thousand people from the border communities. Among them are 1777 children. The main task for our communities is to evacuate families with children. Accordingly, there is a decision at the government level on our request for mandatory evacuation from the Seredina-Buda and Velykopysarivska communities

- said Volodymyr Artyukh.

According to him, 63 families were supposed to be evacuated from Seredyna-Buda community, but 8 of them still remain there.
