The Moldovan parliament is being searched, possibly in connection with a case of espionage in favor of Russia. The head of the parliament's legal department was caught passing information to the Russian embassy in Chisinau.

In Moldova, law enforcement officers are conducting searches in the country's parliament building. They may be related to the case of espionage in favor of Russia. This is reported by Radio Free Europe, citing its sources, UNN reports.

Reportedly, employees of the Information and Security Service (SIS) of Moldova, together with the Prosecutor's Office for Combating Organized Crime and Special Cases, are conducting searches in the country's parliament building as part of a criminal case.

SIS spokeswoman Daniela Minzat did not specify which criminal case was involved. The information about the searches was also confirmed by the representative of the prosecutor's office Emil Gaitur.

According to Radio Liberty's sources, an investigation is underway against the head of the legal department of the Moldovan parliament, Ion Cărăngă, in a case of espionage. He was reportedly caught red-handed while passing information to employees of the Russian Embassy in Chisinau. 

According to NewsMaker's sources, the searches are related to an investigation into treason.
