The process of modernizing the network of higher education institutions has been suspended in Ukraine for the duration of the 2024 admission campaign. This was reported on Wednesday by the press service of the Ministry of Education and Science, UNN reports.

The agency noted that on March 14 , registration for the National Multisubject Test (NMT) started, with the main session taking place from May 14 to June 25. After that, the active phase of the 2024 admission campaign will begin.
We understand that both applicants and educational institutions are already actively preparing for admission. Therefore, the Ministry of Education and Science decided not to propose changes to the HEI network to the Cabinet of Ministers during this period, except for those already approved by the central executive authorities
As noted , three projects concerning the merger of higher education institutions in Lviv, Kryvyi Rih, and Dnipro are pending approval by the central executive authorities.
The agency also said that over the next few months it will continue consultations with stakeholders to develop effective strategies for the development of both individual merged universities and the network of higher education institutions as a whole.
