The Kyiv RMA and UNICEF discussed further cooperation on the restoration of educational institutions and medical infrastructure. Out of 247 damaged educational institutions, 209 have already been restored, and a mental health center is also planned to be expanded.

The Kyiv region has already implemented many projects with the support of UNICEF and is committed to continuing cooperation. This was discussed at a meeting between Ruslan Kravchenko, head of the Kyiv RMA, and Munir Mammadzade, head of the UNICEF office in Ukraine, UNN reports.

A Memorandum of Understanding between UNICEF and nine communities in Kyiv Oblast on programs for children, families with children and youth in war is already being implemented.

The parties discussed the possibility of involving the Children's Fund in continuing the reconstruction in Kyiv Oblast.

"We are helping UNICEF to find donors to rebuild schools and kindergartens. Today, 209 out of 247 damaged and destroyed educational institutions have already been restored. We are striving to rebuild everything as soon as possible, taking into account the needs of both Kyiv residents and IDP children," said Ruslan Kravchenko.

Another important issue is the construction of shelters in educational institutions in Kyiv region. As of today, more than 1.3 thousand shelters have already been arranged and this process is ongoing. And the region has a constant need to increase the number of shelters, given the daily attacks of the enemy.

Cooperation in the medical field is also important. Today, Kyiv RMA is actively working on the reconstruction of the Kyiv Regional Children's Hospital in Boyarka.

"We want to make this unique children's institution a modern and comfortable medical center. To do this, we are in dire need of modern medical equipment to provide prompt and effective assistance," added the head of the Kyiv RMA.

In addition, Ruslan Kravchenko said that the Kyiv RMA has plans to create a mental health center at the hospital. The current places available there are not enough to cover the full need. The mental health program is extremely important, because supporting the psycho-emotional state of children and adults is the key to rebuilding society.
