In Kharkiv region, the Security Service of Ukraine detained a Russian intelligence officer who was collecting data on the deployment and movement of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. This was stated by the SBU press service, reports UNN.

Security Service officers established the location of the offender and detained him during additional reconnaissance of the border area of the region.

According to the investigation, the Russian agent was a 41-year-old resident of Vovchansk, who was remotely recruited by an FSB officer in July this year.
Based on the evidence collected, SBU investigators served the Russian agent a notice of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason committed under martial law). The investigation is ongoing. The attacker faces life imprisonment

The SBU adds that the man was most interested in possible directions of movement of heavy armored vehicles and artillery of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, including howitzers and multiple rocket launchers in the area of liberated Vovchansk.
The man would ask his local acquaintances for information, or he would walk around the area on his own looking for traces of tank tracks.

In addition, the Russian agent tried to find out about the locations of SBU and National Police units near the border with Russia. In the event of enemy "arrivals," the attacker collected information about their consequences and "reported" to the occupiers.
