The Odesa Regional State Administration plans to open the beach season this year, provided there is a favorable military and weather situation. The head of the Odesa Regional State Administration, Oleh Kiper, said this in an interview with Glavkom, UNN reports .
It is difficult to keep people in a city of millions from going to the sea. If this year's military and weather situation allows people to recuperate at the sea, we will try to create safe places for them to do so
The Odesa Regional State Administration will approach the issue of opening the beach season this year in a balanced manner, Kiper continued.
Last year, if I'm not mistaken, we opened the season in mid-August, when the water level was falling after the Kherson hydroelectric dam was blown up. We realized that we couldn't stop the flow of people that was happening in Odesa at that time. To protect them, we opened six beaches, which we regularly inspected and invited the families of our military to recuperate there. That is, we invited people only to those beaches that we had inspected and that were located near the shelters
He reminded that despite fears, there were no incidents on the officially opened beaches last year.
