"SBI officers exposed the chief of staff of the Kyiv City Military Administration for assisting Kyiv deputies in evading military service. He illegally "sent" the deputies from the military unit allegedly on a business trip to the Kyiv military administration," the SBI reported.
The official, according to the SBI, "facilitated the registration of a fake 'business trip' for three city deputies and one of their assistants." "The commander of one of the military units of the terrorist defense, where the men were to serve under mobilization, facilitated the illegal stay in the KMIA. The defendants did not report for military service for almost a year, but received financial support from the unit," the bureau told the details of the case.
In August 2023, all four were reportedly notified of suspicion of evasion of military service committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy (part 4 of Article 409, part 2 of Article 28 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).
"At present, a high-ranking official of the KIAA, who facilitated the fake business trip, has been served a notice of suspicion under the same articles," the SBI said.
The sanction of the articles provides for punishment in the form of imprisonment for up to 10 years.
