The hot dog is called the national dish of the United States, although this is not entirely true. German immigrants brought hot dogs to the United States in the second half of the nineteenth century, where they became a cult dish and one of the symbols of fast food.

Today, on the third Wednesday of July, all fast food lovers can join the celebration of Hot Dog Day. The event was founded in the United States in 1957 and quickly became popular in many countries around the world, UNN writes.

The hot dog is called the national dish of the United States, although, in fact, this is not entirely true. The buns with sausage inside began to be served to visitors to inns and fairs in Germany in the late 15th century.

It was German immigrants in the second half of the nineteenth century who brought hot dogs to the United States, where they became a cult dish and one of the symbols of fast food.

The average American eats 60 hot dogs a year. The record for eating hot dogs belongs to Joey Chesnut - the man ate 69 buns with sausage in ten minutes.

The most expensive hot dog was sold for two thousand dollars.

July 17 is also the World Emoji Day, an event dedicated to pictograms, the author of which in their modern form is considered to be the Japanese artist Shigetaka Kurita.

Currently, Shigetaka Kurita's emoji collection is on display at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, but in the early 2000s this idea was only widespread in Japan.

The symbols were not standardized, as each mobile operator developed its own set of emojis. Some of them were repeated, and some were not displayed on another network.

You can still join the celebration of Disneyland's birthday today.

The father of this iconic amusement park is the world-famous director, producer, and screenwriter Walt Disney.

It was he who created such beloved characters as Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck and others.

Disneyland was opened on July 17, 1955 in the American city of Anaheim. About 30 thousand people visited Disneyland on the day of its presentation. The creation of the fabulous children's world cost Disney about 17 million dollars. The open area of the park is 34 hectares.

According to the church calendar, today is the Day of Remembrance of the Holy Martyr Mary.

Maryna was born in Antioch in the family of a pagan priest, but at a young age she secretly converted to Christianity.

When the father found out, he became very angry and tried to marry his daughter off to a local ruler. However, the girl refused.

Marina was thrown into prison, tortured for a long time and brutally, and then her head was cut off.

Leonid, Marina, and Margarita celebrate their name days on July 17.
