Frontline regions to receive $55 million in aid from international partners to help them through the winter

International partners will allocate $55 million to support vulnerable people in the frontline areas for the winter. The funds will be used to pay for utilities, fuel and support temporary accommodation for IDPs.

Vulnerable categories of the population of the frontline areas will receive support  from international partners in the form of assistance in paying for utilities and will be provided with household fuel worth $55 million. This was reported by the Ministry of Reintegration, UNN reports.

These are the programs of the Ukrainian Humanitarian Foundation (UHF) to support IDPs and residents of the frontline areas during the 2024/2025 heating season.

Only vulnerable categories of the population in the frontline areas  will receive winterization assistance . 

According to the Ministry of Reintegration, such assistance is planned:

  • household fuel: in kind or in cash;
  • assistance in paying for utilities.

They will be able to receive assistance for utilities:

  • IDPs who live outside the places of temporary residence (TACs);
  • persons who lost one of the breadwinners;
  •  persons who do not have a minimum level of earnings;
  • large families.

It is reported that $50 million will be allocated to finance utility assistance for vulnerable populations in the frontline areas.

The program also provides for ICC support for IDPs: repairs, insulation, purchase of boilers, generators, etc. About USD 5 million will be allocated for this purpose.

In addition, during the winter period, the ICC will be provided with solid household fuel.
