Due to the strike of Polish carriers, truckers are increasingly choosing to cross the border through one of the unblocked checkpoints on the Ukrainian border. As a result, a long queue has accumulated at the Shehyni checkpoint. Andriy Demchenko, a spokesman for the State Border Guard Service, told UNN about this and reported on the situation on the border with Slovakia.

We have a queue opposite the Shehyni checkpoint, about 1300 trucks as of this morning. This direction is not blocked, but of course, carriers planning to cross the border choose this direction, given that the previous three are blocked

, - said Demchenko.

Details

As of the morning, according to Polish border guards, there were about 2,700 trucks on the territory of Poland heading towards Ukraine on the three blocked directions.

At the Yagodyn checkpoint, there were 900 and opposite Rava-Ruska, 600. The largest accumulation is opposite the Krakivets checkpoint. There are 1200 vehicles waiting in line there. At the same time, according to Demchenko, this is the only checkpoint with "more or less intense traffic."

Demchenko also noted that the Poles let several trucks through in an hour. "At different times it can be different, two, three, five, eight. There is no clear gradation," he said.

At the same time, a queue of about 1,300 trucks appeared at the Shehyni checkpoint, despite the fact that it is not blocked by Polish carriers.

Situation on the border with Slovakia

Last night, the Slovak side reported that they would let 4 trucks from Slovakia to Ukraine per hour. And in the opposite direction - one truck.

But at night, the Ukrainian side was informed that the movement of trucks through the Vysne Nemecke checkpoint on the border was temporarily unblocked.

"It is difficult for me to assess why it is temporary. We will be in contact with them to understand whether the traffic will be restricted in the near future or in general. Now the movement is going on," Demchenko said.

The spokesman for the State Border Guard Service also said that the blocking of one of the checkpoints in Slovakia was not official, as the action did not represent the country's carrier association. "Now we see reports that the Slovak carriers' association does not confirm that it was their representatives who took actions to block traffic," he said.
