Despite the cold snap and rising consumption, a serious shortage in the energy system is not expected until the end of this week. This was announced by the head of Ukrenergo Volodymyr Kudritsky, writes UNN.
Details
According to Vladimir Kudritsky, despite the cold snap and increased consumption, a serious shortage in the energy system is not expected until the end of this week. In the next week, a projected increase in thermal generation, and if necessary, emergency assistance, can help cover consumption.
According to him, Ukrenergo still expects an increase in commercial electricity imports, the volume of which is currently insufficient. Importing electricity would be an economically optimal source for balancing the power grid on cold days.
Kudritsky also added that Ukrainians do not overload the power grid and are more economical in electricity consumption.
"This format of appeal to society is yielding results and I want to take this opportunity to repeat it once again – we all need to continue to be careful about electricity consumption. The graph that we show online every day gives an idea of when exactly there is the greatest consumption - this is the morning and evening peak. And during these hours, the call to save electricity is the most relevant," the head of Ukrenergo said.
Recall
The schedule of electricity consumption increased significantly during peak hours. Analysis of the last four days shows that Ukrainians most often use electricity in the period from 9:00 to 11:00, as well as from 16:00 to 19:00. Citizens are urged to be more frugal during these hours.
