The HACC upheld the measure of restraint in the form of detention with bail of UAH 2.5 million for a judge of the Kyiv Court of Appeal suspected of taking a USD 35,000 bribe.

Today, the HACCU Appeals Chamber upheld the measure of restraint against one of the judges of the Kyiv Court of Appeal suspected of corruption. This was reported by the SAPO, UNN reports.

Details

The HACCU ruling of 06.12.2023 on the application of a preventive measure in the form of detention with an alternative of UAH 2.5 million bail to one of the judges of the Kyiv Court of Appeal, who is suspected of receiving an undue benefit of USD 35 thousand, remained unchanged.

The report also states that given that the suspect has been granted bail, he is subject to the relevant procedural obligations.

Recall

On December 1, four judges of the Kyiv Court of Appeal were notified of suspicion after being caught taking bribes to lift the seizure of a private company's property. As UNN has learned from its own sources, these are Yuriy Slyva, Viktor Hlynianyi, Ihor Palenyk and Viacheslav Dziubin.

On December 6, Slyva was imposed a pre-trial restraint in the form of detention with the possibility of bail in the amount of UAH 2.5 million.

Two days later, the judge was paid this money for the suspect.
