A Ukrainian parliamentary committee is considering options for demobilizing mobilized servicemen after a certain period of service, as well as discussing ways to allow conscripts to retire or switch to contract service during martial law.

MP, member of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on National Security, defense and intelligence, Fedir Venislavsky said that the committee is discussing the possibility of demobilization from military service, reports UNN.

These are the most difficult issues discussed at the level of the Committee. There were proposals to determine after which period of military service under mobilization, a citizen will be entitled to be discharged bу

Venislavsky said.

According to him, servicemen who have been serving since the first days of the of the full-scale Russian-Ukrainian war have been part of the security and defense forces of Ukraine, should "understand some guidelines for their further service".

That is why we are discussing this issue now. It is proposed to serve for 36 months of service under mobilization to provide for the possibility of demobilization. There are other other proposals, but we are still discussing this issue

added Venislavsky.

In addition, the committee is considering the issue of dismissal of conscripts to the the reserve of conscripts. The MP reminded that according to the law, conscripts cannot be discharged during the legal regime of martial law.

We partially resolved this issue last summer, last summer, when we provided for the possibility for conscripts to transfer to contract service and to serve fully in the security and defense sector. As for the general discharge to the reserve, this issue is also being discussed. At the moment, I cannot say that there is already a solution to it
