Ukraine and Europe are experiencing an abnormal heat wave, which is driving up electricity consumption. Power outage schedules are in effect throughout the day, mostly in three phases, which is more than the day before, and from 4 p.m. onwards, Ukrenergo reported on Thursday, UNN writes.
Consumption
"Today, on July 11, regional power distribution companies are applying consumption restrictions throughout the day. From 16:00 to 23:00, four stages of outages will be used to compensate for the energy shortage in the system, and at other times - three stages," Ukrenergo said.
As indicated, the reason is a significant increase in consumption due to the abnormal heat in Ukraine and Europe against the background of the existing significant energy shortage in the system, which is the result of Russian terrorist attacks on the Ukrainian energy sector.
"The temperature across the country exceeds +30 C. According to the forecast of Ukrenergo's dispatch center, today's maximum consumption is 7% higher than yesterday's figure," the company said.
Emergency assistance
"Yesterday, from 19:00 to 23:00, to reduce the deficit, Ukrenergo attracted emergency supplies from the power systems of Poland and Slovakia," the statement said.
