According to law enforcement officers, on August 4, a resident of a village in Koryukiv district reported that her 45-year-old neighbor was lying in the yard of his house without signs of life. The woman also reported that she had heard shots before.
Police found that a local resident had shot the latter twice with a hunting rifle during a sudden quarrel with a fellow villager.
The man confessed to law enforcement officers and gave a truthful statement. The murder weapon and other material evidence were seized from him.
Koryukiv police promptly identified and detained a person involved in the murder of a fellow villager
The police initiated a pre-trial investigation under Part 1 of Article 115 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (premeditated murder).
He faces imprisonment for up to 15 years.
The pre-trial investigation is ongoing.
