In France, the court for the first time gave asylum to a Russian who fled from the country after receiving a summons during mobilization. This is reported by Russian media, reports UNN.
Details
The Russian reportedly appealed in court against the refusal of the French Office for the Protection of Refugees (OFPRA). His name is not mentioned, but his lawyer Yulia Yamova spoke to journalists. She said that the Russian university graduate, who was enrolled in the reserve after the military department and received a summons during mobilization, had asked for asylum from France.
French officials for a long time could not believe that a man who had never served in the army and had not undergone proper training was to be drafted and sent to the front.
According to the defense lawyer, the decision on the Russian's case will help lawyers in new lawsuits both in the case of those fleeing the war in Ukraine and in connection with other military conflicts.
