On August 23, during a city festival in Solingen, Germany, at around 9:45 p.m., an unknown man, presumably of Arab nationality, began to attack passers-by with a knife for no reason. At the time of publication, according to preliminary reports, at least three people were killed and several were seriously injured.
Eyewitnesses report that the perpetrator fled the scene. The police announced a high level of alert, blocked the roads around the scene, and a police helicopter circled the area.
