The accident happened yesterday, around 15:30, on Dubnivska Street in Lutsk.
A 39-year-old Ford driver, while being intoxicated, hit a 45-year-old woman and a 10-year-old schoolgirl who were crossing the roadway on an unregulated pedestrian crossing
The pedestrians were injured and hospitalized. The driver of the car was examined, his blood alcohol content reached 2.66 ppm, which is 13 times higher than the legal limit.
A criminal proceeding was initiated over the incident under Part 1 of Article 286-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. This is a violation of the rules of road safety or operation of transport by a person driving a vehicle while intoxicated, which caused moderate bodily harm to the victims.
