Ukraine has received the first unofficial signal from Hungary, which indicates a "window of opportunity" at the EU summit. This was announced by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba during a telethon, a correspondent of UNN reports.
Unfortunately, I cannot be frank and pro-military now, because the stakes are extremely high. Today we have received the first non-public, unofficial signal from Hungary, which indicates a window of opportunity. Let me put it this way
In addition, Kuleba noted that the official statement from the Slovak government supporting the opening of negotiations with Ukraine on EU membership is a positive signal.
"Why is this important? Because there were doubts in Ukrainian society and the expert community about the sincerity of Slovakia's intentions...", the minister explained.
Kuleba also noted that everything will be decided at the last minute at the EU summit.
"Before that, there was only escalation of problematic issues, but today there is a very cautious signal from Hungary and an open, public signal from Slovakia. Therefore, the work continues, but everything will be decided at the last minute, and now no one can predict how long the European Council summit will last, they can sit all night," Kuleba said.
Addendum
Kuleba stated that there is not a single country in the European Union that does not want to see Ukraine in the EU. There is only Hungarywhich wants a slower accession process and to study the consequences of Ukraine's accession more carefully.
