This week, there were fewer power cuts because the heat is not so strong, people are using electricity sparingly, and power engineers are successfully continuing repairs. Yuriy Boyko, an advisor to the Prime Minister of Ukraine on energy issues, told this on KYIV24, UNN reports.

"The heat in August and the heat in July are very different. Not all of Ukraine was in a "hot frying pan". This also contributed to the regional nuance of the size of the pile-up. On the other hand, in August, daylight hours are shorter and, accordingly, the nights are longer and the temperature at night is also cooler, which allows for cooling buildings and, accordingly, less active use of air conditioning," Boyko said.
According to him, he also witnessed "a conscious approach to self-regulation of consumption by consumers who applied their own consumption restrictions.
"People responded to the call of NPC Ukrenergo and the Ministry of Energy and, accordingly, did not provoke an even greater increase in load, which, in turn, had a positive impact on the ability of power engineers to balance the operation of the power system without applying restriction schedules or minimizing such schedules. The repair campaign is going quite well today, and additional generating equipment is being switched on, which has added electricity to the system," said Boyko.
