Trump did not rule out that even those who pleaded guilty, in particular to attacking police officers, will be pardoned. According to the president-elect, they "had no choice."In addition, he suggested that those who pleaded guilty were pressured.

In the case of the Storming of the Capitol on January 6, 2021, at least 1,572 suspects were charged, and more than 1,251 of them were convicted or pleaded guilty to assault.
