The newly elected US President Donald Trump said that he is going to pardon those convicted in the case of the Storming of the Capitol on the first day of his tenure as head of state. He said this in an interview with NBC news, reports UNN.

Trump said that on his first day as president, he will provide legal assistance to participants in the January 6 riots, who, according to him, went through a "very disgusting system.

"I will act very quickly. On the first day," Trump said, adding later about their incarceration: "they've been there for years, and they're in a dirty, disgusting place that can't even be opened.

Trump did not rule out that even those who pleaded guilty, in particular to attacking police officers, will be pardoned. According to the president-elect, they "had no choice."In addition, he suggested that those who pleaded guilty were pressured.

However, he said that "there may be some exceptions" to his pardon, "if someone was radical, crazy.
