The Verkhovna Rada has adopted as a basis the draft law No. 9423 on the establishment of a state veteran patronage service that will operate for 5 years. This was reported by UNN with reference to MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak.
No. 9423 on state veteran patronage service - as a basis (259)
Details
The explanatory note to the document states that in order to organize the process of post-war adaptation of demobilized servicemen to civilian life, it is proposed to create a State Veterans' Patronage Service within the system of state power (under the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine), which will operate for 5 years on the basis of state-volunteer partnership.
The employees of the service will be patronage assistants - volunteers or demobilized soldiers. According to the draft law, they will perform the following duties:
- will ensure the routing of support for each serviceman assigned to them, both in administrative matters and in matters of reintegration, psychological adaptation, education, treatment and rehabilitation;
- develop and monitor the implementation of an individual program for the adaptation of each demobilized soldier to civilian life.
- will accompany a certain number of demobilized soldiers in the process of their adaptation to civilian life.
The draft law stipulates that the total number of employees of the Service will be 15 thousand people.
The organizational activities of patronage assistants (including training on the principle of partial qualification) will be provided by patronage coaches. Each coach will supervise up to 100 patronage assistants.
It is important that a demobilized serviceman can refuse the services of a patronage assistant or change the assistant for further cooperation.
