Ross Levinson has been fired "to improve operational efficiency and revenue" of the company, Arena Group said in a statement. Manoj Bhargava will take over as CEO.

A spokesman for Bhargava, the founder of 5-Hour Energy, said that Levinson's dismissal "has nothing to do with the artificial intelligence issue." He insisted that the move was related to ongoing efforts to improve the company. This comes amid a wider purge of the company's top executives after the scandal broke.
