Republic of Korea is ready to help Ukraine restore the war-damaged environment. The relevant ministers of the two countries agreed to cooperate on this issue during a meeting at the COP28. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Environment, according to UNN.

Minister Ruslan Strilets met with Minister of Environment Han Hwa-jin on the sidelines of the COP28. They signed their intentions on They signed a Memorandum of Cooperation.
Within the framework of the signed Memorandum, the countries agreed to work together on the following issues:
- sustainable water management.
Ukraine is interested in the experience of creating a relevant state company for effective management. It is also important to apply modern practices in the field of water treatment, etc.;
- waste management and transition to a circular economy.
Ukrainian Minister Ruslan Strilets invited his Korean colleagues to join the project to build waste treatment plants. According to his estimates that Ukraine needs to build 207 new waste treatment plants to to solve the accumulated problems.
Other urgent issues of cooperation include: restoration of Ukrainian forests; conservation and sustainable use of biodiversity and ecosystem services; adaptation and mitigation of climate change, development of development of environmentally friendly technologies, etc.
